The Andrew Hession (Roo) Forever Fund

Andrew passed away in December 2010 aged just 21. He was a diabetic type 1 sufferer from the age of 12 and this left him with health problems in his later months. Despite that Roo was always a cheerful cheeky chap, ever willing to lend an ear to someone in trouble and cheer them up when he could.

Losing Andrew has left a huge hole in the lives of all of us. If we can raise money towards finding a vaccine for this awful disease then some good will come out of this nightmare.

With friends and family we've raised over £20,000 and we have a few things planned still. Raising money has helped us keep Roo's memory alive, we still miss him so much. I would do anything for a special RooRoo hug once again.

Bristol walk

So tomorrow we once again take part in the Bristol Stroll in aid of Meningitis UK. There are 17 of us this year, a good turn out, including two walkers from the USA.

The weather forecast isnt good but I know we'll have fun and raise a glass to Roo at the end.

Benefit night

The tickets are on sale for your benefit night in July, and selling very well. We have some smashing prizes, a flat screen tv, champagne, sporting memorabilia, box seats at the Blues. Should be a good night.

Looking for a pub for a fun day in August. Have so much planned, been promised a bouncy castle for the children, face painting, bikini car washing (I know you'd like that one Roo), and a dance troop are going to give us a display. Just got to find the venue first.

We have had an interview with the Evening Mail who promised to do a spread on Meningitis and our fund raising, and they have said they want to do updates in the future too.

Plus, we have a central tv crew coming round on Monday, oh boy, what have we started????

Paul McGrath

Hi Roo, just heard that there may be another Paul McGrath night at the Villa again this year, this time the proceeds will go to your Forever Fund. How fab is that? Rachel has worked really hard to get this, you'd better be grateful boy!

It seems not so long ago that we were all at last year's event with Alex too. Now both of you are in heaven, probably getting up to mischief. Love you loads sweet cheeks. x

Missing you

We miss Roo so much, words just cant say how much, and we know how much others miss him too. At least we know the Angels are smiling now he's there.

Our fund raising is getting off to a great start, with the UB40 tribute night, Laura and Hannah's fun run, and Holly, Laura and Dean's sky diving. We'll make you proud Roo.
