The Jacob Vincent Brown Forever Fund
When Jakey was born I was the proudest man alive, I was on top of the world and looking forward to teaching him the ways of life, especially passing down my legendary rugby skills!!!!
Six months had passed and we were having the time of our lives, Jake was a very calm boy with one hell of a cheeky grin. The 5th of October started out as just a normal day and after a walk in Richmond park we noticed that Jakey was a bit under the weather, a little moany and we thought he must be teething as his first teeth were coming through.
After an hour had passed his moaning had became more consistent, he had a high temperature and then we had noticed some red blotches on his skin. After noticing the blotches we did the tumbler test, but the red marks remained.
Immediately we took Jakey straight to hospital in Hammersmith, London where they diagnosed him with meningitis.
Six hours after the tumbler test; Jakey lost his battle with meningitis and died in Great Ormond Street Hospital, he was only 6 months old.
As you can imagine it’s very tough to get back up on your feet but with the amazing support of our family and especially our friends we have done so.
To keep Jakes memory alive I now want to raise as much money and awareness for this amazing charity that is so close to our hearts to help find a possible vaccine for this horrific disease so that no other parents have to endure the pain that we went through.
Please support us by sponsoring on the right hand side of the page our first challenge is the rowing challenge.
Thank you
