Jessica's Sponsored Kilimanjaro climb - July 2012 Fund
I have been given the amazing opportunity to go on an expedition to Tanzania for three weeks in July of this year. During this time I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, a 5 day trek to a height of 5,895 m, I believe that it will be once-in-a-lifetime experience and to make it even more worthwhile, have decided to make it a sponsored trek.Meningitis can be fatal; each week six families have to face the sudden tragedy of losing a loved one to this devastating disease. Meningitis UK aims to find a vaccine to eradicate meningitis and every penny counts towards this goal.
I did not know Hannah personally, but have heard about her story from those who were fortunate enough to. From what I’ve heard and read she sounds like a truly inspirational person and I feel privileged to have this opportunity to honour her memory and to raise money for this incredible cause.
I’ve set myself a target of £100 but hope to raise as much money as possible, so please donate.

Update.
Just an update for anyone who happens to be visiting my page. I did it! one of only 4 of the group of 20 that attempted to summit kilimanjaro. The expedition took place for three weeks in july (2012) and whilst there, aswell as raising money for meningitis uk i was able to do a weeks voluntary work in a local school, helping to renovate it and to help the children with their english. I have managed to raise over £100 in memory of Hannah and for Meningitis uk's 'search 4 a vaccine' campaign from sponsorship for my climb. I hope Hannah's memory and spirit will live on through family and friends support for the cause.
