The Mark Tanton Forever Fund
This fund has been set up in memory of Mark, a popular, healthy and active 14 year old lad who was tragically taken by meningicoccal meningitis on 18th September 2010. We miss him terribly.
We set up Mark's tribute fund in order to keep him in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him, hoping that the fundraising activities would increase awareness of this devastating disease.
The support shown at all our events has been overwhelming so lets keep up the hard work and maybe something postive will come out of such a tragedy for us.
Please read Mark's forever fund page and continue to support us all in our events.

Daventry Dolphins Sponsored Swim Press Release
On Monday 11th October, Daventry Dolphins swimmers participated in a sponsored swim event at Daventry Leisure Centre, to raise money in memory of former Dolphins team mate, Mark Tanton, who sadly died of meningitis last month, at just 14 years of age.
Many of the senior swimmers had competed with Mark at team galas and therefore decided that it would be a fitting tribute to raise funds to purchase a trophy in his memory as well as to donate funds
towards the Meningitis UK charity.
In total, 61 swimmers participated in the event, including Head Coach Rob Sharp, and each swam for the duration of their usual squad training hours, completing the following distances (listed by squad). Bronze and Silver squads swam 53,600m, Gold squad swam 25,450m, Olympic and Junior Olympic squads swam 111,450m and Aqua squad swam 3,900m. The total collective distance swum was an amazing 194,400m (194 KM).
There were plenty of incredible achievements during the evening, not least that of Emma Bond and Rachel Sullivan, who each completed a staggering 270 lengths (6,750m) during their two hour session.
All swimmers are to be congratulated on their enthusiasm and determination to swim as many lengths as they possibly could for such a worthwhile cause.
Once all monies have been collected, further details will follow. Anyone wishing to make a donation should contact either Rob Sharp or Anna Bennett at Daventry Dolphins.

On the 28th May we had a Charity Pampered Chef evening in our garden at Russell House, 38 people came and we had a fun time with cookery demonstrations, tasting and a raffle. We raised a total of £426.69, £351.00 from the ticket sales & donations on the evening plus £75.69 from Pampered Chef which they will donate separately through Meningitis UK for the Mark Tanton Forever Fund.
