It is too late for us but we now want to raise as much awareness and funds for this horrible infection/disease.

poor little boy, you were far too young to be taken away from your mummy & daddy...i am so very sad and upset that you didnt make it. My little boy had bacterial menigitis last year and he was so close to being taken from us but thankfully he pulled through so the reality has hit me so much since hearing about you. Still missing & thinking for you loads. Its christmas so bec we cant buy you presents we have lit 2 candles for you & 1 extra for presents we couldnt buy you throught the year. We went to where you are burried the other day & left a christmas tree for you also bec we couldnt buy you presents we brought a little toy that will be given to a little boy who wont get many presents from anyone else. Hi everyone,
Sorry havent written for a while. As you can see the fundraising has been coming along nicely, with the help of you all :)
We have a few events coming up this year:
20.02.10 - Karaoke Night at the Cherrytree in Bromeswell. It is free to come, we just ask that you donate 50p for each song that you sing and any other change that you would like to donate throughout the night
28.03.10 - Football match, 50/50 split, Meningitis UK and Meningitis Trust. Will post more detail in a couple of weeks
02.05.10 - Rugby 7's tournamant being arrainged by Tim. Unfortunately I will probably not be able to attend and Mark will be only able to go for a little while as I will be having a c-section around this time. Again, more details to follow
05.06.10 - Topsy Turvy night at the Cherrytree, Bromeswell. Women to come dressed as men and men as women :)! More details to follow shortly
We are planning on doing another cricke tand football event this year, with a netball event being arranged by Sam and hopefully another coffee morning

Charity Cricket Tournament & Auction
13th September 10am
With the help of Ipswich Cricket Club we have arranged a tournament to raise funds and awareness for Meningitis UK in memory of our son Taylor who was taken from us in march this year aged only 9 and a half months.
The Cricket will start at 10am and there will be activities going on all day, face painting, bouncy castles, bbq, raffle and the clubs bar will open at midday.
At around 7.30pm there is an auction for various prizes including signed shirts, cricket equipment plus many more.
Please come along and support what should be a great day

Charity Football Match 09th August
In Memory of Taylor Westley-Smith
Allport Ltd vs Maersk
Venue: Dellwood Avenue, Felixstowe
Kick Off 2pm (Bar open at midday)
We are holding a charity football match in memory of our son Taylor who tragically lost his life to meningitis on the 15th March this year aged only 9 and half months old.
Tickets are available on the day for £2.50. Felixstowe & Walton Utd has kindly let us use their facilities for the day. The bar will be open at midday and hot food will be available.
Please come along and support the teams and learn more about the dangers of meningitis.

Ipswich Cricket Club have kindly agreed to let us use their 2 pitches on September 13th in order to arrange a cricket tournament to raise funds in Taylor's memory.
We are hoping to do an all day reduced overs round robin tournament with a final between the best 2 teams.
It doesn't matter if you have never played before The Club have also arranged for a BBQ to be done in the afternoon / evening

We just wanted to thank everyone so far for their support and donations, the effort put in from everyone is amazing and we appreciate it so much.
A special thank you must go to Kylie for her support and general PR work, Everyone at Allport Ltd who have helped loads (Kerrie, Nick and all the crew, you know who you are!!). Sam and family for being there with a glass of wine when needed and Charli for keeping us amused. Lee and Krystina for their help and good luck Lee with your charity bike ride and of course our families.
We will be arranging charity events this year and will keep you updated on what is going on.

What a fitting tribute to a wonderful boy Taylor and I admire you for having the strength of character to try and raise awareness of meningitis despite your own tragic loss. My own son was extremley lucky last year to make a full recovery from Meningococcal meningitis and therefore I am determind to raise funds and awareness. I also live in Ipswich so will try and do some local fund raising.
