Grow your Fund

Using a Forever Fund to raise money in memory of your loved is a wonderful and positive tribute to them. There are many ways in which you can do this from taking on the challenge of a skydive to holding a tea party or simply by making a donation, the possibilities are endless and unlike other online fundraising sites such as Just Giving, there is no administration charge on donations and 100% of the money donated is received by Meningitis UK.

Whether it is donating money in lieu of wedding and birthday presents, holding a quiz, running a marathon or doing a sponsored silence we can support you with advice on how to make the most of your fundraising and provide you with materials such as banners and t-shirts.

A great way to raise money through your Forever Fund is to set up an fundraising page.

This is a page dedicated to an event or challenge that you are doing and allows you to add details of the event, photos, and the opportunity for people to donate straight onto the page. It will also show your separate fundraising total which is also attributed to the main fund. 

How to set up your fundraising page

The pages can be set up by yourself, any member of your family or a friend. All they need to do is select the button which is on the right side of the page that says ‘Raise money for this fund’.

This will then take you through to a page with five different options such as birthdays or sponsored events. Select the relevant page by clicking on ‘create’. You will then be asked to register your details and offered the option of emailing the page link to friends and family. When you have completed the registration an email will be sent to your account with a link to finalise the page. This is where you can add information about the event and pictures. Once it is set up you can access the page whenever you need to make updates.

How to donate to your Forever Fund

There are a number of ways of donating to your fund even if you aren’t actively fundraising by holding events at that time.

Cash gifts

You can donate directly onto the page using your debit or credit card.

Forever Fund candles

You can light a candle in memory of your loved one by selecting the option to ‘light a candle’ on the right side of the page. This allows you to write a personal message to your loved one that everyone can see and can be done by anyone visiting the page. A single donation of £10 or more can light a candle.

Regular gifts by Direct Debit or Standing Orders

Regular donations are extremely important to Meningitis UK as they help us to plan for the future. If you want to set up a regular donation by direct debit or standing order then please call us on 01179476320 to request a form. When you have completed and returned this then the donation will come out of your account as you have specified and we will add it to the fund.

Offline donations

Any donations that we receive directly at the office such as a cheque through the post or by bank deposit will be added to the page by us. If you let us know that you are banking the money then we can look out for it and make sure it is added. If you would like any special messages added with your donations then please just let us know.
